Rain rain, go away…. Life got in the way of my original plans to attend the 2017 Summit Racing Autorama on Saturday. Unfortunately, the forecast of rain for Sunday proved all too accurate and it put a damper on most of the outdoor activities and kept attendees away. Despite this set-back, there were still a lot of cool cars and the exhibition space to occupy the few hours I had available.
I am in need of a few parts for the Corrado project that I just began not to mention that I am always looking for ways to market to more Automotive manufacturers so I decided it was worth the two hour trip despite the rain forecast.
It was interesting to find that almost none of the exhibitors were actually allowed to sell parts at the event. They were just there to support Summit Racing in their event. You could chat with them at their booth, but if you wanted to purchase something you needed to go to the Summit Racing desk in the middle of the exhibit space. It’s the first time I’ve seen a setup quite like this one but considering the relationship all of these manufacturers have with Summit it makes sense.
I had no luck finding the main part I need, the fuel seal for the early production 1990 Corrado’s sending unit/fuel transfer pump. All of the parts systems show the much larger late-year seal for the in-tank fuel pump. However, I did score big on the sticker collection for the office refrigerator.
